Screen Printing Direct to Film (DTF)
Vinyl Heat Press Transfer  Direct to Garment (DTG)

Screen Printing

Screen Printing, which is also known as Silk Screening, is a printing method of graphics on a t-shirt using thick inks and pushing ink through a meshed screen that lays the ink on top of the shirt. Screen Printing is what most companies use for cheap custom printed tees, This printing method has been around for more than 2,000 years back from Chinese stenciling method.

Benefits: Cost effective when buying custom shirts in bulk. Prints can stay bright after 100+ washes without losing or fading colors.

Pros  Cons
• Cost effective if printed in bulk • 12 Minimum per. Style/Design
• The print can be ironed • Separate screens are required for each color
• Volume discounts the more you order • Not suitable for coated fabrics
• Prints last much longer without losing color • Not ideal for multi-colored design
• Perfect for printing on the cotton and poly cotton clothes • As each color is applied separately, the making cost gets higher with each addition of color
• Screen printed garments are machine washable as the ink is heat dried.
• Prints done by screen printing are brighter irrespective of the color of the fabric

Vinyl Heat Transfer

Our vinyl heat transfers are great for customers who only need one shirt or a few with text or a simple one or two colors designs without a lot of details.

Not Acceptable  Acceptable Art

Not accepted art for heat transfer vinyl

This art has a-lot of detail and is more of a graphic / photo art.

Recommend: Direct to Film (DTF) or Direct to Garment (DTG)

accepted artwork for vinyl heat transfers

This art is simple and though it has two colors its available to be heat pressed as vinyl transfers are individual colors and cut using a vinyl plotter and then weeded.

Benefits: Cost effective when buying a few custom shirts. Prints can stay bright as the colors are solid and do not require a white under-base to have bright colors to stand out on dark color shirts.

Pros  Cons
• No Minimum to order • Large quantity runs are expensive and time consuming
Small quantity runs allow customers to get their items faster • Prints peel after several washes and do not last long
Allows for a variety of colors and placements on a garment • Prints are stiff, making the fabric firm
• Great for solid text • Not ideal for multi-colored design

• As each color is applied separately, the making cost gets higher with each addition of color

• 2 Color max allowed for design

 Direct to Film (DTF)

Direct to film is a newer imprinted method release in 2019 that allows full color imprints to be printed onto a transfer sheet that is then applied onto any type of garment with the use of a heat press.

Benefits: Cost effective when buying a few custom shirts. Full color photos or graphics can be printed.

Pros  Cons
No minimum to order • On Polyester the colors may be a bit darker
Unlimited full color imprint Not cost effective for large production runs
High detail accuracy in printed design Generally no volume discounts
Great for small orders or one-offs
• No set-up costs

 Direct to Garment (DTG)

Just like DTF full color designs and be printed directly onto a 100% cotton material garment only. While this imprint is similar to DTF the DTG imprint method requires the garment to be pretreated in order for the ink to settle onto the garment and leaving a soft feel impression. DTG also requires to be heat pressed to harden the imprint onto the garment.

Benefits: One of the best benefits of DTF (Direct to Film) and DTG (Direct to Garment) are designs or photographs with full color can be printed and keep all details.

Pros  Cons
• No Minimum to order • Imprints can only be printed on 100% Cotton
• Unlimited full color imprint • Not cost effective for large production runs
• High detail accuracy in printed design
• Requires a pre-treatment for imprint to stay onto garment
• Great for small orders or one-offs
• Generally no volume discounts
• Prints on lights and dark garments
• No set-up costs

How long will my imprint last?
